If you want Denton to be a place where you don’t have to drive everywhere for every single trip and deal with the stress of traffic, getting involved in city planning processes is a great way to encourage change.

The city is currently updating multiple plans, including the comprehensive plan (Denton 2040), mobility plan, and the parks, recreation, and trails master plan. If you haven’t already, check out 5 Reasons You Should Participate in the Denton 2040 Plan and learn how it impacts your personal finances, your health, city finances, and the environment.

Get Involved

The next public input opportunity is an open house at the Development Service Center (401 N. Elm St.) on Thursday, September 16th, 6 - 8 PM (Register to attend).

At this meeting, you will be able to:

  • Review and comment on draft maps for Denton Plan 2040 Future Land Use; Mobility Plan (including the Bicycle and Pedestrian Plans); and the Parks, Recreation, and Trails Master Plan.

  • Chat with city staff, provide input, and leave comments about how we can help shape the city’s growth and plan for the future.

If you are unable or uncomfortable attending the in-person meeting, you may participate in a virtual open house September 16 - 30, 2021 at www.cityofdenton.com/denton2040.
