Denton 2040 Plan: First Round of Public Meetings Complete
April 6, 2021
The first round of public input is complete for the Denton 2040 Plan. The first meeting was accidentally capped at 100 participants, so an “encore” meeting was scheduled, attended by fewer than 30 people. The meetings were primarily a description of the comprehensive plan process and a series of poll questions to participants. If you were unable to attend either meeting, you can respond to the same questions by completing the Community Questionnaire.
5 Reasons You Should Participate in the Denton 2040 Plan
According to consultants who are leading the update process, this is intended to a “targeted amendment” of the Denton 2030 Plan. In focus group meetings with specific stakeholders, the areas of amendment are expected to include the downtown area, new growth areas (e.g. Hunter-Cole Ranch), and economic development.
A second round of public input meetings is expected in mid-May. Consultants indicated they’d like to offer an in-person component to these meetings if possible. The meetings will focus group discussion around the areas of amendment listed above.
