Residents Welcome Denton’s New Bicycle & Pedestrian Coordinator

Suzi Rumohr introduces Greg Scott (yellow vest) to the group.

Denton residents celebrated the arrival of Denton’s newest Bicycle & Pedestrian Coordinator, Greg Scott, with a welcome ride on Saturday.

Greg, who hails from Portland, has roughly 30 years of experience in transportation work, including about 20 years of experience working with bicycle and pedestrian projects. Greg has worked in Utah, Florida, and most recently for the Department of Transportation for the state of Washington. While in Utah, Greg was a member of the Organizing Committee of the 2002 Olympic Games in Salt Lake City.

The event began and ended at Record Coffee Supply and Bullseye Bike Shop, which recently opened at 108 W McKinney Street.

Greg joined Denton residents on Saturday morning at 108 West McKinney Street, the new home of Bullseye Bike Shop and also home to Denton’s newest coffee shop, Record Coffee Supply. The group went on a short ride north of downtown before heading back to Record Coffee Supply to enjoy craft coffee and hang out.

Participants ride down the protected multi-use path on Parkway Street.

The group rode to Pioneer Circle at TWU before returning to downtown.

Greg will be working in Denton’s Transportation Planning department and will be responsible for planning and implementation of the bicycle and pedestrian components of the 2022 Denton Mobility Plan as well as components of Denton’s ADA Transition Plan.
